How our pets, dogs and cats, see us?

Could you believe cats treat us thinking that we are a giant, clumsy fellow cat? When a cat rubs up against you and lifts its tail, he is greeting you in the same way that they would greet another cat. Comparing this to dogs, which play and communicate differently with other dogs than with humans, suggesting they recognize the difference, and cats don’t.

Some university researchers says that cats probably see us as especially clumsy -which most of us are, by cat standards! – However, despite legions of Internet memes, they do not see us as foolish inferiors. After all, in feline social circles, rubbing and purring are not how one greets a social inferior.

Otherwise, it’s believed that dogs see humans as completely different from other dogs, based on their conduct, because when a dog sees a human, its behavior changes pretty dramatically. For example, think about how dogs play with people compared to other dogs. Dogs are likely to roll over on their backs, wag their tails affectionately, and nuzzle their owners. These are all bearings that pack animals like dogs generally don’t do so commonly around other dogs.

But despite of these differents points of view between dogs and cats, in general both pets see us like a source of companionship, love, and a provider of food, shelter and protection.
